Where Our Story Began…

The Page Ahead Project began with a single story, of a classmate who was failed by her school system, allowed to sit only two GCSEs, and left without the opportunities she deserved. That experience lit a fire in our founder, Rufus Poole, to make a change.

As a passionate reader and student at St Paul’s School, Rufus started this project to give back to the community through the power of books. We believe reading inspires curiosity, joy, and a lifelong love of learning. We’re committed to making those experiences available to every student, regardless of background.

We recently partnered with The Vineyard School to help their library and provide their students with more books! Following a meeting with their librarian, we are currently selecting donations according to a personalized reading list that aligns with the requirements and preferences of their classrooms.

This new partnership began while I was volunteering through the First LEGO League program. After reading with one of their classes, I was moved by how engaged the students were and how much reading meant to them.
