New Partnership with The King's C of E Primary School

I first came into contact with King’s Church of England Primary School while volunteering through the First LEGO League program. During the very first session, I had the opportunity to read with one of their classes, and I was struck by how deeply engaged the children were with the stories and how much reading clearly meant to them. Over the next few weeks, as I continued working with the school through LEGO League and spending time in the library, I began to form a real connection with the students and felt deeply invested in their growth and success. While helping in the library, I realized how central reading had been in my own life, not just as a source of enjoyment, but as something that had shaped my learning and imagination. I wanted to give back to the community and help inspire younger students to develop the same love for books.

Motivated by this experience, I reached out to the school directly to explore how I could support their reading efforts more meaningfully. I emailed their general contact address and was soon in touch with the deputy head. We arranged a Zoom meeting to discuss their current library system and how I might be able to contribute. She shared insight into their reading culture and the types of books that most appealed to their students. Together, we began outlining a partnership focused on supporting their library’s development, and the initiative is now set to launch soon.
